A native Californian, Nathan swapped Oakland for an apartment on the Southside of Chicago when he joined Roller in 2016. His messages over the year have included casual references to Chicago winters where blood freezes, legendary Southside block parties, as well as gunshots on his way to work.
Nathan has been working on addressing complex social challenges for a decade. He’s a facilitator and a communications professional. His work at Roller ranges from process design, facilitation, coaching diverse prototyping teams, and client management; through to designing and managing complex communications campaigns.
Prior to Roller, Nathan worked at Reos Partners. He managed global communications across five continents, seven offices and had nine bosses to contend with. Things are simpler now.
He holds a Master of Arts degree from Albert- Ludwigs University in Freiburg, Germany. He has also studied at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal in Durban, South Africa; and at the Center for the Study of Social Systems at Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi, India. He holds a BA in Politics from the University of California at Santa Cruz.
He has been studying Chen Style Taiji since 1998. This means he has been honoured by a man half his size knocking him around for years (so it goes). Nathan has a deep appreciation for all forms of improvisation.
